The essence of the Swedish diet
Starvation is out of the question, it doesn’t matter how much you eat, you just have to watch your food groups.
This medical diet was developed in Sweden for people who already have a health problem with obesity. It can of course also be followed by people who want to lose a few kilos quickly for aesthetic reasons. This diet is high in fat and protein, so starvation is out of the question, and it doesn’t matter how much you eat, you just have to watch your food groups.
There are 3 types of food included in this diet, so it’s very easy to stick to, and it doesn’t require a lot of self-discipline or lifestyle changes. You can go about your daily activities without having to chase diet foods. You don’t have to starve yourself, count calories and think about eating times. It’s a diet rich in fat and protein.
1. Free to eat meals
- whole dairy products: cheese, sour cream, cottage cheese, milk, yoghurt, butter, as much as you can eat
- eggs in any form, fried, boiled, hard or soft-boiled, scrambled, omelette, in any form
- meats without breadcrumbs, of course, but can be fried in fat or grilled and seasoned, red meat is also allowed, not only poultry and fish
- vegetables that grow above ground: lettuce, cabbage, peppers, spinach, cucumbers, etc. Celery is allowed, but not carrots, potatoes, of course
- seafood: fish, crab, shellfish in all quantities
- oilseeds: almonds, walnuts, peanuts, cashew nuts, hazelnuts, tomatoes, etc.
2. Occasionally allowed foods
- root vegetables: carrots, beetroot, potatoes, sweet potatoes
- fruits: only a little, instead of sweets, unfortunately the sugar content is very high even in sour fruits, so limitation, bananas, grapes, plums very rarely
- dark chocolate, but only the really high cocoa content is allowed
3. Forget these!
- cooking oil, margarine
- all spirits, beer, wine, brandy are forbidden, not even once – don’t be tempted, because it will ruin the whole diet
- sugary foods: cola, cakes, ice cream, desserts of all kinds, cakes, puddings, creams are prohibited
- carbohydrate-rich foods: wheat, pasta, bread, pizza, other cereals, rice, potatoes, corn, rye, millet, barley pearls, etc…
